The power-packed XUV500
It would be wrong to say that the XUV500 is a recent car because it has been around for quite some time now. However, in 2015, it got some major updates which have rekindled the interest that people had in this car. The exteriors of the vehicle feature an all new chrome grille, projector headlamps, fog lamps with chrome bezels, and a creased hood. The interiors get a dual tone dashboard with multifunction steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and illuminated scuff plates. The upholstery brags of being made from pure leather. Underneath all these cosmetic changes, the vehicle still runs on the same reliable 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine with a peak power and torque of 140 bhp and 330 Nm respectively. Available in seven colour variants, the XUV500 poses serious threat to other SUVs in the market such as the Tata Safari Storme, Tata Aria, and Nissan Terrano.
The vibrant Verito Vibe
The Verito Vibe has been around for some time too, first as Renault-Nissan’s Dacia and then as Logan. However, after some time, it was claimed solely by Mahindra and given some considerable updates along with a new name – the Verito Vibe. Design-wise the Vibe is quite similar to its predecessor with a few minor alterations such as the headlight console, tail lamps, and a boot-lid cum spoiler. The interior is very spacious with a two-tone design. The engine used is Renault’s 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine producing 65 bhp power and 160 Nm torque. With a fuel efficiency of more than 2 kmpl, this car is a show-stealer in every sense of the word.
